Competitions and Awards

Competitions for school-aged children vary widely. Wendelken Piano Studio does it all- from low-key Festivals to State, National and International competitions. Our students do incredibly well in whatever they choose, and we are always proud of them.

No other Tampa Bay/New Tampa music school participates in as many different events as Wendelken Piano Studio. We are experienced in preparing our students for every type of music competition, audition or performance. At WPS, we recognize that each one of us are different, and what works for one may not for another. We offer a variety of experiences for you, so that you may choose what feels right. We take pride in helping you achieve your goals.

Competition awards are a wonderful way of validating our achievements in music. Lists of awards look great on college apps, resumes, and can help with scholarships and getting into better colleges. We are proud to say our students bring back many first and second places from state each year, win gold and silver medals from RCM exams, and trophies and certificates from an array of competitions of many descriptions. Our students always shine wherever they go 🌞

Awards

MUSE Club for Musical Teens

Our studio club, MUSE, is made up of our teen and pre-teen students, who meet, create student outreach events and do much of the work of putting the events together, organizing the student performers and making sure the events go smoothly. MUSE is a great place to make friends and have some fun and some pizza, while making the world a little better one concert at a time. MUSE members receive CAS hours, of course!

Our daughter has won first place at numerous competitions as well as at the National Federation State competition. But even more than the awards is the love and joy she has for music and a standard of excellence that has been gleaned from Ms. Wendelken. Dawn Perdomo, mother
